Dr Abbas Mehrabidavoodabadi

Assistant Professor

Department: Computer and Information Sciences

I am Assistant Professor in department of computer and information sciences and a member of CyberNets research group at Ƶ Newcastle, UK. From September 2019 until April 2020, I was a Lecturer in computer science at Nottingham Trent University, UK. From 2017-2019, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in distributed and mobile systems research group in department of computer science at Aalto University, Finland. I received my Ph.D in computer science from the school of electrical engineering and computer science at GIST, South Korea in 2017. 

My research interests include optimization and resource allocation in mobile edge computing (MEC) networks, Internet of Things (IoT), scheduling and planning problems in smart grids/microgrids and vehicular edge/fog networking.

I am a member of IEEE, Fellow of UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and have been involved in projects funded by Innovate UK, and Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, Marie Skodowska-Curie.
